About Smooth Path Engineering

Founded and led by Remi Nentwig, BEng (Hons), Smooth Path Engineering Ltd builds on nearly two decades of hands on experience in manufacturing and industrial engineering.
Remi’s career began in 2008 in fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), later transitioning into the automotive sector in 2016 supporting high impact programmes across internal combustion engine (ICE), electric (EV), and fuel cell (FCEV) technologies. From greenfield to brownfield environments, he has delivered complex manufacturing concepts and full-scale rollouts across the UK, Europe, and the US.

Smooth Path Engineering provides strategic consulting across the full product and manufacturing lifecycle, with deep expertise in automotive plant development, from early feasibility and facility layout through body shop, paint shop, general assembly, and production readiness. The consultancy brings executive level insight to support OT/IT integration, organisational planning, and the alignment of technology with operational goals.

Our work combines hands on engineering leadership with strategic thinking, aligning cost, capability, and delivery outcomes to create scalable, sustainable, and future ready solutions.

While we use “we” throughout this website, Smooth Path Engineering is an independent consultancy personally led by Remi Nentwig. Projects are delivered directly or, when appropriate, in collaboration with a trusted network of expert partners selected for their technical fit and reliability.
